Not so long ago, through carelessness with my diet, my immune system was not doing so well. I picked up an infection and as part of the treatment I took supplements, vitamins and antioxidants.
In a very short while I not only got over the infection but my immune system is doing very well indeed, and I am keeping it that way.
One of the best ways of staying healthy and preventing future problems is making sure you take the nutrients your body needs.
Antioxidants help your cell structure and keep it healthy – which is why they are well known for anti-aging, and according to various researches, also against cancer. It does make sense, both aging and cancer are the results of things going on at the cell level.
Most of the time we are unable to eat the whole spectrum of nutrients, vitamins and antioxidants we need.
This can be because of access to the right foods, or incomplete diets, or because it so happens, our bodies are not absorbing all the nutrients they should. (This is a very discreet reference to what happens as we increase in years).
At other times we may think we are eating the right food, but we don’t really know where it came from or how it was produced. This can also be an issue with supposed organic food – unfortunately there are those who provide incomplete or untrue information.
Supplements can boost your vitamin and antioxidant requirements.
Some brief tips would be:
- Eat a lot of fresh fruit, vegetables and salads.
- Enjoy fruit juices.
- Boost these with vitamin supplements – but it is always a good idea to have a nutrionist guide you.
