Getting a Fair Share of Antioxidants
Posted By admin on September 21, 2008
My brother is a doctor, in fact he specializes in alternative medicine. When I asked him how I should go about getting my fair share of antioxidants, he rambled off into the realms of high “medicology”.
Since I understood less than half the words he used, and I can’t spell them anyway, here is my simple explanation.
Our bodies do produce natural antioxidants, but this is not enough for our needs.
In today’s climate of questionable diets and quality food (nutrition wise), as well as pollution and environment, we have to look elsewhere for antioxidants. The good news is that they are available in vitamins and supplements.
You’ve probably noticed there are different vitamins. Well, this also shows there are different antioxidants and why you have to consume antioxidant rich food.
You can find many supplements and vitamins over the counter but as with everything else in life, you must strive for a balance.
In this case eating the right diet and fortifying yourself with vitamins. The right type of food includes fruit and vegetables. A little red wine won’t do any harm and some dark chocolate will top it off quite nicely.
Now, that was simple – and at two in the morning.
